A little care can go a long way, we recommend using 303 Aerospace Protectant every month in addtion to cleaning the spa cover with soap and water.

Spa Covers Etc. | Spa Cover Care - We recommend 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Spa Cover Care... A little maintenance can go a long way!

Weekly: On the day that you add chemicals to the spa it is recommended that the spa cover is completely removed 100% for one (1)  hour after adding chemicals (i.e. Chlorine, Bromine, any sanitizers, "shock", etc.). If the spa cover can NOT be removed 100%, then fold it in HALF for 1 hour on the chemical days. And if possible alternate which side is removed every other week.

Monthly: Spa Covers Etc. recommends CLEANING the spa cover EVERY two weeks (at least once per month) to prevent the spa cover / vinyl from fading and deteriorating prematurely.
Start by washing off any debris / dust with a garden hose. Wash the spa cover with mild liquid soap (i.e. Dawn or Ivory soap) & rinse completely. If needed, stubborn stains such as bird droppings may be wiped off with a sponge. Do NOT use detergents or abrasives, including abrasive pads.
After the spa cover has been washed use a clean towel to dry the spa cover. Wipe off all the water off to prevent hard water stains.

It is recommended that a protectant be applied to the cover to help to preserve the vinyl. Spa Covers Etc. recommends using 303 Aerospace Protectant every month after washing the spa cover. Simply spray the 303 Aerospace Protectant on the clean spa cover and with a clean/dry cloth wipe off the excess. The spa cover will stay looking like new for many years to come.

Spa Covers Etc. believes that 4-6 years is the average lifespan of a spa cover that is NOT maintained. We have had customers tell us that their cover has lasted up to 10 years with a little maintenance.

NOTE*** The 303 Aerospace Protectant has a SPF 40 Value... It's like suntan lotion for the spa cover! They claim it will reduce slow fade by 95% over 5 years!

Under NO circumstances should you use abrasives such as a BROOM, S.O.S. Pad, SQUEEGEE, etc.
NO cleaners containing alcohol or silicone.
We do NOT recommend saddle soaps of any kind.
Doing so will VOID the warranty and can degrade the utility and insulation of your cover over time.

Typically the "Pool Supply" sells cover care products made with Silicone. We do NOT recommend these.
